Digital Communications Assistant

The European Regions Network for the Application of Communications Technology (ERNACT) is an international network of European regional and city public authorities that work together to access European Union digital technology programmes and funding.

We are seeking a digital communications assistant, a dynamic, creative and adaptable individual capable of working on their own initiative within a team environment. Previous experience of working in an international and multicultural environment is desirable.

The Digital Communications Assistant will report to the General Manager and will work with peers in a knowledge-based team environment. She/he will collaborate with ERNACTs core stakeholders across Europe, including regional governments, technology partners and the European Commission.

The successful candidate will work from ERNACT headquarters in Colab, LYIT Campus, Letterkenny, Ireland. This is a stimulating ecosystem of digital startups, LYIT research groups, tech companies and supporting development agencies.

This is a full-time contract for a period of 12 months.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement ERNACTs European-wide communication strategies for the organisation and European projects.
  • Develop, implement and monitor digital communications campaigns – including joint campaigns with ERNACT partners – to achieve the strategies and that take into account business goals and target audiences.
  • Develop effective communication relationships with ERNACT staff, core ERNACT regions, project partners, EU funding programmes and other key stakeholders.
  • Plan, write and publish all internal and external communications materials needed to deliver the campaigns –including for EU project campaigns - in accordance with ERNACTs branding guidelines.
  • Use and improve ERNACT’s existing digital communications platforms, tools and reporting systems.
  • Prepare communication reports for ERNACT management and partners, European Commission and all ERNACT committees as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Honours or Master’s Degree in marketing, journalism, digital communications or a related discipline.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and effective presentation skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least six months post-graduation or internship work experience.
  • Delivery of digital marketing campaigns or communication strategies.
  • Content creation, media relations and writing press releases.
  • MS Office and web analytics.

In addition to the specific requirements for the position, all candidates will demonstrate capacity, experience and/or potential in a number of the following areas:

  • A second official European Union language.
  • Good organisational, project planning and task execution skills.
  • Event organisation.
  • An interest and understanding of new economy innovation drivers, technology and research.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural and multi-organisational team environment.
