KSSENA - energy agency of Savinjska, Šaleška and Koroška region was established as part of the project establishment of local or regional energy agencies as part of the European program: Intelligent Energy Europe under horizontal action 2: "Think globally, act locally". The project promoter was the Municipality of Velenje, which, together with the provinces of Cadiz (Spain) and the city of Karlovo (Bulgaria), formed a European consortium.
For 11 years, KSSENA has been successfully working in areas of efficient use of energy, renewable energy sources, sustainable development and environmental protection. The main objectives of the project are to support the local communities in the region in the energy transition, to acquire funds for the implementation of concrete project solutions and help to accelerate the development and implementation of conceptual and applicative projects. They participate in several programs, such as Interreg Central Europe, Interreg Danube, Interreg Alpine Space and Interreg Mediterranean.
