Aim of Event

To mark ERNACT's 35th anniversary by showcasing the value and impact of sustained cross-border and interregional cooperation, while providing a platform for dialogue on the future role of regions in European policy and territorial cooperation beyond 2027.

To reflect on 35 years of ERNACT's cross-border and interregional cooperation, highlighting its contribution to regional development, innovation and digital transformation.
To facilitate dialogue between EU institutions, regional and local authorities, and ERNACT partner regions on the future of European territorial cooperation and Cohesion Policy beyond 2027.
To explore how rural, peripheral and cross-border regions can contribute to and benefit from Europe's digital, green and innovation transitions.
To explore how all regions can participate meaningfully in Europe's digital, AI, green and innovation transitions.
To strengthen European and international partnerships and identify opportunities for future interregional cooperation that respond to shared regional challenges and priorities.

Description

ERNACT at 35: Connecting Regions, Driving Innovation is a European policy and networking event taking place at the European Parliament in Brussels to mark 35 years of ERNACT's cross-border and interregional cooperation.

The event will bring together representatives of EU institutions, regional and local authorities, and ERNACT partner regions to reflect on lessons from 35 years of cooperation and explore how rural, peripheral and cross-border regions can contribute to and benefit from Europe's future digital, green and innovation priorities, while strengthening European and international partnerships.
