Donegal County Council
recently welcomed a delegation from Bursa, Turkey, including officials from
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality
and
Bursa Uludağ University
. The visit focused on knowledge exchange focused on economic development, innovation, and emergency management. The visit aimed at fostering future collaboration and sharing best practices between the two regions.
The Donegal delegation was led by the
Director of Economic Development, Emergency Services and Information Systems
Garry Martin
, who presented on the significant work undertaken by the county's economic development and tourism team.

introduced the 'Remodel' project by Atlantic Technological University (ATU), a collaborative initiative with Bursa University. More information is available at

Mayor of Bursa, Mustafa Bozbey
, delivered a presentation on the municipality's strategic priorities, emphasizing the critical role of economic development and innovation in driving regional prosperity.
Further deepening the exchange, Donegal's firefighters provided an insightful presentation on major emergency management and fire safety protocols, showcasing their expertise and operational strategies.
