ANEL Contributes to Interreg Europe Exchange of Experience as Lead Partner of CIVITEC
Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) participated in the Exchange of Experience for Interreg Europe projects, which took place on 15 April 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Attending as lead partner of the CIVITEC project,
ANEL joined counterparts from projects approved across all three calls to share practical insights on implementation, discuss common challenges, and reflect on future needs and expectations for the programme.
As part of Interreg Europe’s policy learning platform, the event contributed to improving regional development policies by facilitating the exchange of good practices and reinforcing cooperation between regions. It also served as a preparatory moment ahead of the wider “Europe, let’s cooperate!” forum, where results and experiences are shared with a broader European audience.
CIVITEC, funded by Interreg Europe, aims to make democracy more participatory, inclusive, and responsive by strengthening citizen engagement through innovative digital tools and processes.
Civic technology (Civic Tech) plays a central role in this approach, enabling the co-creation of strategies and policies and building more dynamic relationships between citizens and public institutions, ultimately contributing to the revitalisation of democratic processes.
