18 January 2018 - CLEAN  project
It is time for the first Interreg CLEAN staff exchange of the year. Partners will have the option to travel to North Karelia (Finland) or to San Sebastian (Spain), depending on the good practices they wish to learn about for their region.

North Karelia (Finland)
Our Finnish partner, the Regional Council of North Karelia, will host a staff exchange on the 23rd and 24th of January. On day one, local stakeholders will present their cases of good practices and energy efficient actions in the region. In the afternoon, attendees visiting North Karelia will have the opportunity to visit the good practice sites. Study visits will include:
  • Heat recovery from exhaust air at the central hospital
  • Heat recovery from municipal wastewater in Joensuu
  • Smart led streetlights of Penttilänranta
  • Sirkkala renewable energy park
On day two, attendees will travel for a study visit to the Koli area, where a presentation of the thermal heating renovation project of Sokos Hotel will be delivered. Afterwards, visitors who travel to North Karelia will have the opportunity to visit the National Landscape of Finland peak of Koli and Nature Centre Ukko.

San Sebastian (Spain)
Our Spanish partner, Fomento de San Sebastian, will also host a staff exchange on the same dates. On Tuesday 23rd January, attendees will receive a presentation on the Enertic Smart Building and i-sare micro grid, followed by a site visit to the Enertic Smart Building. In the afternoon, attendees will be delivered a presentation on the Replicate project, also followed by a site visit.

Day two, 24th January, attendees will learn about the Smart Kalea project. This will be followed by a regional stakeholder meeting where CLEAN project partners will exchange experiences. In the afternoon, attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Smart Kalea project.

A fruitful exchange of experience is expected from both regions. Follow the CLEAN project on Facebook and Twitter for live updates and pictures throughout the week.
