Community Access Points
Cambridgeshire County Council supports a network of around 50 Community Access Points (CAPs). The County supports the broadband infrastructure. This contract gives each CAP broadband access and wi-fi capacity within the building. CAPs were established over a decade ago and these locations are still well supported and the provision of wi-fi has helped further develop their use. The main objectives of the CAP network are: • Promoting and supporting digital inclusion • Developing community capacity to run local digital inclusion initiatives • Recruiting and training volunteer Digital Champions within communities
