Örnsköldsvik Workshop
A central theme of the workshop was the skills shortage affecting many municipalities in Norrland. Participants were introduced to the Regional Mission-Oriented Innovation (RegMOI) approach – a core element of the MINDSET project, which aims to empower regions to address societal challenges such as skills development, climate change, and sustainable housing.
Through practical exercises, participants worked with three methods designed to structure mission-driven work:
Mission Formulation – defining a common mission
Stakeholder Analysis – mapping relevant actors
Focus Map – turning missions into action plans
In their evaluation, participants highlighted the value of cross-sectoral dialogue, knowledge exchange, and hands-on methods. They ranked the methods by usefulness as follows:
Focus Map
Mission Formulation
Stakeholder Analysis
They also expressed strong interest in learning more about tools for analyzing complex challenges, leadership in mission-driven work, and design tools.
This workshop marks an important step in Örnsköldsvik’s role as a testbed for RegMOI within MINDSET, contributing to regional strategies for innovation and resilience.
