The ENAIBLER project Final Conference brought together project partners, policymakers, researchers, innovation experts, and public sector representatives from across Europe in Letterkenny, Ireland. The two-day event celebrated the culmination of the Interreg Europe funded project and explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can foster more innovative, efficient, and citizen-centred public services.
Hosted by Donegal County Council, the conference provided a platform to reflect on the project’s regional impact while driving discussions on the future of AI adoption across European regions.
Building AI-Ready Regions
The opening day focused on the regional ecosystems, partnerships, and skills necessary to support responsible AI integration. Thought leaders and representatives across academia, research institutions, education providers, and industry shared valuable insights into digital transformation and capacity building, highlighting the vital role cross-sector collaboration plays in deploying AI safely and effectively.
Enabling an AI-Driven Public Sector
The second day was opened by Cllr Pauric McGarvey, Mayor of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District, who welcomed delegates and set the tone for the sessions under the theme "Responsible AI for Better Public Services".
ENAIBLER partners shared key findings and regional case studies from Spain, Poland, Sweden, France, and Ireland, demonstrating how regions are strengthening capabilities, policy, and infrastructure.
Prominent Irish public bodies—including the Dublin City Council, CeADAR, and the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA)—also presented real-world examples of AI in public service delivery, concluding with a roundtable on scaling projects into sustainable transformation.
Celebrating ENAIBLER’s Impact
The conference marked the completion of years of interregional cooperation and policy learning across Europe. While the formal activities draw to a close, ENAIBLER’s enduring impact lives on through the established networks, policy recommendations, and collaborative partnerships.
The event demonstrated that responsible AI is a shared mission—confirming that Europe's regions are well-equipped to harness AI to deliver responsive, citizen-first public services.
