The aim of the project is to:

Help create a market for regional information services, utilising the pervasive economic and social influence of regional authorities, by developing and deploying a telematics application for the delivery of a range of multi-agency SME-focused telematics services to support their trading and business development needs in the emerging information economy

Specific objectives are to:

Stimulate the market for electronic trading and information services in regional economies by launching a number of public sector advanced information services targeted at regional SMEs.
Internationalise the operations of regional SMEs by exploring the possibility of building bridges between proprietary regional information systems and existing or planned European systems that support inter-firm networking, electronic tendering, trading, training and business support
Explore the impact of the Information Society on the delivery of public services at regional level (in the Member States in which there are ERNACT regions) in terms of physical interfaces with the public and SMEs, internal workflows and employee skills.
Assist European level efforts to stimulate the Information Society at regional level by pursuing actions to promote the uptake of the outputs from the CRISM project by all European regions.

The project intends to help stimulate the market for advanced services in the ERNACT regions and beyond by developing and implementing an application to deliver a number of regional, crossborder and interregional services closely focused on the needs of SMEs. These needs have been identified as key enterprise and employment creation priorities in the economic development strategies of the ERNACT regions. This was funded under the Information Society strand of the Second Programme of Interregional Cooperation and Innovative Actions within the Structural Funds 1995 - 1999.
