On 9 June 2026, ERNACT led and Interreg Europe funded HUMAN project partner University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, successfully hosted an engaging online webinar dedicated to the accessibility of digital services. The event brought together project partners and stakeholders from across sectors, including healthcare, public administration, and inclusive innovation.
The webinar focused on the practical and strategic aspects of designing and delivering accessible websites, applications, and digital services.
Participants gained valuable insights into the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and its requirements for inclusive digital design. The session, delivered by Dr Matevž Pogačnik and Dr Gregor Burger from the Laboratory for Multimedia of University of Ljubljana, offered a comprehensive overview of accessibility principles as well as real-world applications.
The speakers highlighted how accessibility benefits not only people with disabilities but also a much wider audience. For instance, accessible design improves usability in everyday contexts, such as viewing content in bright sunlight, accessing information in noisy or quiet environments, or using captions in video content. The presenters demonstrated how inclusive design contributes to better user experiences and more equitable access to digital services for all.
The webinar provided practical examples of good practice and showed how accessibility considerations can be integrated into standard development workflows.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr Matevž Pogačnik and Dr Gregor Burger for their insightful and informative presentations. Their expertise and clear guidance significantly enriched the discussion and inspired participants to further advance accessibility in their own work.
We look forward to continuing collaboration and dialogue on digital accessibility in future project activities.
