On 15 and 16 September 2026, Härnösand Municipality (Sweden) hosted the HUMAN project Interregional Meeting, bringing together representatives and stakeholders from 10 European nations to address digital health, inclusion, and the role of technology in fostering accessible communities.

As healthcare transitions towards Healthcare 5.0, the two-day event focused on the premise that digital progress is ultimately about people. Participants explored how digital health literacy, participation, and accessibility ensure that technological advancement does not create new barriers or forms of social exclusion.

Key Highlights & Sessions

Immersive Learning & Digital Innovation: Attendees visited the VR Studio to experience virtual and augmented reality applications designed for education, healthcare training, and skill development, particularly within rural and remote communities.
Digital Health Literacy & Inclusion: A dedicated seminar addressed strategies for making digital health services accessible and understandable for all citizens, highlighting regional best practices to reduce digital divides.
Knowledge Exchange: Following an opening address by Lars Liljedahl, sessions featured research, lectures, and panel discussions with contributions from Florentina Peci, Eva Coos Berglund, Jennie Olofsson, Gabriella Blom, Stefan Grip, and Susanne Iwarsson.

Driving Regional Collaboration
The meeting provided a platform for international knowledge exchange, research, and innovation, reinforcing cooperation across European regions. From VR tools to digital health literacy, the discussions underscored a shared principle: technology delivers true value only when people are empowered to use it effectively.
